| Review | Rating | Last Updated | Good timing This item was ordered too late for Christmas delivery but it arrived right afterward and in perfect condition. | 5 | Today | Works good See my review under "Linksys BEFW1154 Wireless-B Cable/DSL Router".
This card works well with this router. | 5 | Today | USED to be good I have had this product for a little over a year now and it is terrible. I don't know if it's just a defective chip or anything, but it really got me mad. When i first got it the thing worked fine , but in the last couple of weeks it has been horrible. The signal strength has been either low or very low and i am constantly losing internet. I tried to call tech support once and it gave me some Indian guy that I couldn't really understand. Not only that, but all he did was tell me stuff i already knew like click repair on the connection in My Network Places and restart the computer. If they are all like this one that I have then I reccomend not getting this item. | 1 | Today | Hard to install I found out that the one thing you should not do is install the thing using the linksys setup. Instead (win xp)go to the 'add hardware' section, look for new hardware and install it using that driver in correspondance with the linksys one. | 3 | Today | Good product, AWFUL tech support This product works great, provided you are astute enough to get it up and running on your wireless network. I have a Linksys Wireless Router which is essentially why I went with the Linksys Wireless PCI adapter. I figured it would ease integration. Well...I encountered a problem in which I couldn't get the adapter to talk to my router, even though I could see that the adapter was receiving a good signal from the router. So I called Linksys support...BIG mistake. They spend hours of my time walking me through a hundred steps that I knew wouldn't work because I already tried them, just to tell me that there is something wrong with my adapter and I should return it. What a load of crap!!! Eventually, I sat down and just reset all of my router settings and went through the inital setup steps for my router and got it working on my own. And now, it works like a charm. :) | 4 | Today | Product works great I already had the wireless router installed with a PC plugged in. I installed the card instead and it worked right away. PC is now on the other end of the house and it works great. | 5 | Today | works great so far this product was relatively easy to install (with a little knowledge about computers) and has been up and running ever since i installed it. no problems so far. hopefully none coming. | 5 | Today | Poor Technical Support I recently bought a Lynksys Wireless PCI Adapter (WMP11) for my daughter's Dell computer. I installed the card and software per directions. Each time I restart the computer I have to manually connect to my wireless router. I called 24 hour technical support center located in India. I had to ask the person to repeat themselves several times because of their strong dialect. The individual had to ask me to hold on several times while they searched for a solution. After about 30 minutes to an hour of following his directions I am no better off and, in fact, I am having more of a problem connecting to the router than I did before I made the call. Linksys has a great name in network products but before I make my next purchase, I will research companies that have US based help center. | 2 | Today | works for me I just installed this card on my old Dell 4100 and works like a charm. I followed the instructions and was surfing within minutes. The radio reception is good and no problems with the link dropping for far. I almost had buyer's remorse when I saw how many negative reviews on this board but I guess I got lucky. So far so good. | 5 | Today | Do not use WMP11 with HP Pavilion After wasting an *enormous* amount of time (over a week), I found that the Linksys WMP11 causes my HP Pavilion with AMD CPU to freeze hard and neither HP nor Linksys were able to resolve. I even tried returning the WMP11 for a replacement in case it was bad, but the replacement did exactly the same thing. I just changed to a TRENDnet TEW-228PI wireless PCI card that works great! The problem with the WMP11 was complicated to diagnose because it connected fine. If no data was transferred, no problem. But once you start transferring data thru the WMP11, it would crash (hard freeze) the system within a small random interval (2-5 minutes). Buyer beware. | 1 | Today |
